MacKenzie is one of the foremost American proponents of functional pottery, and was one of Bernard Leach's first apprentices, and closest friends. The glaze is his classic semi-matt white, and the brown 'calligraphic' brush work show his decorative abilities at their best.  This piece, from 1994, is massive - as large a piece as MacKenzie makes. It is approx. 4" high x 18.5" in diameter, and in perfect condition. It is double stamped with MacKenzie's personal and studio (Stillwater) stamps.
