Description
This is a monumental plate, by the internationally known American potter, Warren MacKenzie. MacKenzie is one of the foremost American proponents of functional pottery, and was one of Bernard Leach's first apprentices, and closest friends. The glaze is his classic semi-matt white, and the brown 'calligraphic' brush work show his decorative abilities at their best. This piece, from 1994, is massive - as large a piece as MacKenzie makes. It is approx. 4" high x 18.5" in diameter, and in perfect condition. It is double stamped with MacKenzie's personal and studio (Stillwater) stamps. This is a stunning MacKenzie of the highest rank - fit for any museum collection. I will ship to the continental U.S., only. All sales are final. NOTE: plate stand not included. Insurance is included in the shipping charge. Check my feedback, and bid with confidence. Please see my other ceramics listings, too. Thanks for looking!
