Description
Located at an Estate Sale – a wonderful example of Art Pottery by Western Stoneware of Monmouth, IL.    The prior owner purchased this during a trip quite some years ago.  This piece includes the impressed "Maple Leaf" mark.   This Carafe appears to be from the Mojave pattern dating possibly to the 1930's.  This tall (and heavy) lidded Carafe (or you might refer to it as a Pitcher or Coffeepot) is medium brown color with a mottled/speckled motif.  Vertical ribbing appears on the neck and bowl.     As with most Pottery pieces, there is evidence of glazing or manufacturing blemishes, which only add to the character of the piece.  There is small tiny chip on the inside of the neck of the lid.  We found NO other signs of chips, cracks or crazing.  As this piece is older and most likely used, it's possible that other imperfections might exist, that we missed.   This Carafe measures approximately 11 - 1/2" tall (including lid) x 6" wide (at the widest "bowl" area).  This is a heavy piece, weighting near 3 - 1/2 lbs (before packaging).  Please use the Link above to visit our Auctions and Store for more unique Collectibles.   PLEASE NOTE About Item Condition: The evaluation of our items is subjective, however we attempt to describe the condition as accurately as possible. We try to note obvious and not so obvious flaws. As most items are older and preowned, expected wear or use might be evident. Should you feel our description was inaccurate, please e-mail immediately and we will try to resolve the situation to your satisfaction.  Photographic skills aren’t terrific. Shadows and white spots are from camera flash reflections and do not appear on the actual items unless noted otherwise. Payment: An unfortunate current trend in non-paying customers has forced us to limit how long we can hold an item for payment before considering the winner a non-paying bidder. Payment is due within 5 days of end of Auction or the item will most likely be relisted.  New Ebay policies indicate Paypal as the preferred payment method. Shipping:  We normally ship within 3 business days, of cleared payment to a CONFIRMED address. Insurance is optional for buyer's protection as we cannot be responsible for items once shipped.  All items are carefully packed for safe shipping. On occasion, we will use clean, recycled packing materials. FEEDBACK:  Feedback is one of the buyer's methods of letting us know they are pleased with the purchase.  We gladly leave feedback for each buyer who leaves feedback for us.  If you have a problem with your purchase, please contact us before leaving feedback and we can address your concerns
