Description
Santa1213 Store Vintage Pyrex 1940's Primary Colors Bowls Set of Three Another great Estate Sale Find for Your Consideration!!!!!!!!! This is the first of the 4 piece multi-colored Pyrex mixing bowl sets that were introduced in the 1940s, often called the Primary Color Bowls or the 400 Series Color Bowls. If there is any one set that embodies collectible vintage Pyrex, this may very well be it. This set includes the following:1 pint, 5 1/2 inch diameter Blue bowl,2 1/2 quart 8 1/2 inch Green bowl,4 quart 10 inch Yellow bowl. "Bill Keeley, a collector of Pyrex and Fire King glass. Bill states that there were some variations in the primary color set throughout the years, most notably that the oldest sets from the “1940s” were not numbered on the bottom. According to him, “The markings on the bottoms of the 1940s ‘non-numbered’ bowls are only ‘T.M. REG.’ in an arch above ‘PYREX’ horizontally in the middle, and ‘U.S. PAT. OFF’ below in an up-facing arch. The later 1950s - 1970s sets do have the numbers.Another collector mentions that you can also tell the older 1940s bowls from newer ones by the “thickness” of the bowl… the newer ones are thinner. "(taken from the website Pyrex Love)These bowls match the 1940's criteria. They have the 1940's markings and are definetely noticably thicker. CONDITION:The condition of these bowls is amazing for 68 year old bowls. The yellow bowl has some minor scratching that can only be seen when held close to the light. The Green bowl has a very tiny chip on the bottom rim. Also has minor scrathes that can only be seen when held to the light. The Blue has some discoloration (which is almost always evident on the blues and reds). However for their age I would say they are amazingly in excellent condition. This gives me many oportunities to buy wonderful vintage items to be able to pass on to my customers. I always loved estate sales and went to them often. Upon retiring I was hit with paying my own health care insurance. I thought what a better way to possibly make a little extra money to help with that expense than by doing what I love to do and helping others which is also one of my favorite things to do. Since starting with EBAY I have gotten such wonderful emails from so many customers telling me why they made the purchase and how they were going to use the item. Stories like "my grandmother left me that set of dishes and I need one piece to complete the set" "My husband has an illness and the pots and pans I purchased are necessary for me to cook for him since we cannot use metal" It goes on and on. That brings such joy more than the profit endured. First and Foremost I want my Customers to be Happy with their Purchase. Customer Satisfaction is Very Important to me.I firmly live the saying "Treat others the way you would like to be treated". Most items I sell are Vintage, Used or Preowned. I do my best to describe items accurately but sometimes my perception of condition will be different than your perception of condition. I do my best, but sometimes I make mistakes. I don't claim to be perfect. Please Contact me if you are unhappy with your Purchase For Any Reason!! Give me a chance to make you a happy customer so you can leave me Positive Feedback. I have worked hard to keep my Feedback Positive and will Work Even Harder to make sure all our customers have a Positive Experience with my Service and the Item you Purchased. Feedback is based on the item you purchased + Communication + Care in Packing + Fast Shipping and the Overall Ebay Experience. I also maintain a practice of leaving feedback for my customers as soon as payment is received. I want to Retain our Positive Feedback Rating so Please Contact me Before Leaving Feedback if there is a problem so we can work together on a Positive Solution and Everyone Wins!! Thanks!
