Description
WE ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS THROUGH PAYPAL.Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Our opening bid is our reserve. Staffordshire Transferware. This is a fabulous and very rare large 14 1/2 inch 1830s Green Transfer Urn with lid. This was made by Copeland and Garrett (1833-1847). Marked on the base with a printed "SPODE" and the lid is marked "Copeland and Garrett". This would date early in their production to the 1830 s at circa 1835. Nice floral pattern with gilded handles and finial. Fabulous hard to find form. Nice molded handles. Beaded rim on the bottom and the rim. Without the lid it reminds me of a wine cooler. Condition is very good for its age. The lid is excellent with no chips, cracks, or repairs. It is nice and clean. The base is in very good shape. There is an old repair to the handle (last pic). No other damage. Light wear to the gilding as expected of a piece of this age. The lid is original to the base. The piece is incredible. You probably won't find another. Measures about 14 1/2" tall (to the top of the finial). Measures about 9 1/2" handle to handle. The diameter at the top opening is about 8 1/2". BID WITH CONFIDENCE .
