Gorgeous electric/sapphire blue, flint glass, art glass basket with applied, twisted, looped, reeded, thorn handle; ruffled rim and overshot side and bottom; rough pontil. Various experts have attributed this piece to Boston & Sandwich Glass Co; all of whom put a value on it more than double what we have on it here. After considerable research we do believe it is a 19th century Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. piece. The piece is superb in the quality of the glass, the color of the blue and the craftsmanship of the artist. The ring is unmistakably flint glass. We have noted several other pieces like it in museums, private collections, and most recently in recently published books on American Art Glass.    Condition: No damage noted.
