Slab built, stoneware, ceramic MEDiEVAL tOWN   from the best known modern exponent of creative slab pottery, Bryan Newman.   Using buff, heavily grogged, Dobles stoneware clay, the form was created to commission  and consequently is unique as a sculptural image. The depth and weight of to the dry matt glaze, created by Bryan is an absolute joy to behold. Superb tactile qualities – to hold it is just to melt.   New condition and unblemished. 7.5cms wide, 5cms deep, 15cms high.   Bryan has been making very limited quantities of pottery  and this was a rare chance for him to revisit the type of pottery that made him famous.   Uncommon, and so, likely to be quickly snapped up. Doubly marked, with Bryan’s potter’s seal, this is superbly made in perfect condition and a lovely example of the ceramic skills of a master potter whose work is in many national collections including the V&A.   I have a large stock of 20thCentury Studio Pottery & Ceramics and welcome enquiries if you wish me to list a particular potter on ebay.
