O'Connor, one of the finest makers of cut glass during the Brilliant Period (1876-1916). O'Connor learned from Dorflinger and Sons, and we suspect this piece is cut on a Dorflinger blank as this was the case with many O'Connor pieces.  This exact piece is listed in in the trade ads book 3, OCJ-16 by V-R  Information Systems Leawood, KY.   This very fine blank is colorless and the cutting is deep and precise.   This wonderful 14 x 7 inch cut glass bowl weighs 18 LBS. It is in excellent condition with no chips, or cracks or noted areas of damage. We have recevied several emails and phone calls regarding the ID of this piece.  We initally thought that this bowl was the "Caprice" design by O'Connor.  We've since discovered that we were incorrect .  We have also been advised that the bowl appears to be a Dorflinger piece as found on page 278 the book Dorflinger America's Finest Glass, 1852-1921 by John Feller.   We feel that the trade ad referecne cited above is the same piece that we are offering.  In the trade ad, O'Connor did not name the design.   Maker/Signature J.S.
