This massive jug stands 16 ½ inches tall and is almost one foot wide (20 lbs). It has the classic Red Wing Bee-Hive shape with high shoulders and straight sides. The cylindrical spout attaches to the strap handle gracefully and is in perfect condition. The Minnesota Factories classic “Turkey Droppings” extend down from the top 6 ½ inches (one being 2 ¼” and the other 1 ½”) Outer glaze is consistent and smooth with a high gloss. No repairs in the body or cobalt birch leaf. The 5 gallon swirled capacity mark and leaf measure 7 ½”. The bottom is free of lines or fractures with the only problem being very flat chips along the bottom of the piece (see photo). This jug is a great example of the earlier firings coming out of the Red Wing Factory. Place a Bid!
