In 1764 King Louis XV of France gave permission to found a glassworks in the town of Baccarat to produce window panes, mirrors and stemware. In 1816 the first crystal oven went into operation. Baccarat received its first royal commission in 1823 and in 1855 won its first gold medal at the World's Fair in Paris. After World War II. crystal production expanded its scope and Baccarat built a world-wide reputation for making quality stemware, chandeliers, barware, and perfume bottles. In 1948, Baccarat created an American subsidiary in New York City. In 1993 Baccarat began making jewelry and in 1997 the company expanded into perfume. The stemware has gold decoration around the top And gold ring and decorative band around the base Overhead view 10 are in excellent condition and one has been repaired (or was flawed with a band of gold around the lower stem) Dimensions: Height: 7 inches; Diameter: 3 inches.
