This was Japan or Chinese made around 16 or 1700's.Looks like Ming or Kutani influenced? You collectors will know. Has a beautiful pierced honey combe type double wall.Wall is about 5/8" wide.Looking closely in picture 8 and 9 you can see their is a little larger hole in the piercing.One in each of the outside 4 corners...with a wire attached,this would have made a handle for each end for lifting.{Notice my pictures are not doubled up,Just showing both sides}.The inside of the honey comb piercings have some reminants of the old calcium deposites but not really bad and could be cleaned.Measures 2 1/4"Tall x 9 1/16"Long-Top lip x 6 1/16Wide-Top lip. Considering the age I would have to say the condition is over all excellent.Amazingly their is no cracks,breaks or old repair.Any chips are very small expected abrasion type wear on inner and outer top edge.This also has the appropriate black specs in the porcelain from the firing kiln ash of the time period.As you can see the hand painting is beautifull as well as masterfull.You will love it.~~~ You may want to check my auction site for other related items ~ FREE Shipping ~ No Reserve ~ Thanks for looking.
